After reports of the activation of a Bitcoin wallet that had been dormant for 12 years with 1000 BTC worth $27 million, CNBC “Crypto Trader” host Ran Neuner expressed concern about what was happening. He is afraid of wallets being hacked with a special generator.

Activating these old BTC addresses can be a really scary thing. I hope it's not a wallet hacked by the generator. All this can have catastrophic consequences.

It is known that the Satoshi-era Bitcoin whale moved 400 BTC worth about $11 million, 360 BTC worth $9.8 million of which went to one wallet, and another 40 BTC to other addresses. 600 BTC remained in the wallet.

Last week, crypto tracking service Whale Alert reported that a crypto whale with 1,128 BTC had transferred more than 279 BTC worth $7.6 million to new wallets after 10.5 years of inactivity.

These developments come amid a surge in activity on the Bitcoin network - according to Glassnode, the number of transactions currently exceeds 270 thousand per day, approaching average monthly cycle highs.

According to CoinMarketCap, despite the recent increase in activity, Bitcoin price fell 0.3% overnight, trading at $27,433. Bitcoin dominance is 44.2%.
