P2P woke up expensive this Sunday: Bs 1,033.41 per $USDT if you’re buying, a 17.29% premium over the BCV rate of Bs 881.07. 📈

It’s the highest premium I’ve recorded in several weeks, and it’s not alone: the market’s aggregate spread is Bs 57.07, or 5.85% between the price you buy at and the price you sell at. With 200 active offers, the marketplace is thinner than on other weekends, and when it thins out, prices spread apart.

🔍 THE DETAIL ALMOST NO ONE LOOKS AT

Inside Binance P2P, the picture changes quite a bit: buy at Bs 1,009.78 and sell at Bs 999.85. That’s a Bs 9.93 spread, less than 1%. Why does the market average show 5.85% while you see 1% here? Because the average is skewed by one-off ads, high minimum amounts, and payment methods that almost nobody can actually use. The spread you “see” isn’t always the spread you “trade.”

💡 HOW TO READ IT WITHOUT GETTING IT WRONG

1. Filter by amount: if your trade is small, large orders show you a price you’ll never get.

2. Check the payment method, not just the number. A great price with a bank you don’t use is just window dressing.

3. Check the advertiser’s reputation and response time before messaging them.

4. Always compare against the BCV (Bs 881,07) to know how much of a premium you’re really paying.

🇻🇪 CONTEXT

The exchange-rate gap remains above 14%, and this week Binance enabled bolívar deposits via Pago Móvil, making the bolívar → $USDT cycle much shorter within the app. More ways to get in, more people looking at the same order book: that’s why Sunday starts with these numbers. And remember, don’t confuse a safe haven with a price move: $USDT still tracks the dollar, $BTC not.

⚠️ A high spread isn’t a buy or sell signal. It’s information. Traders who operate without seeing it pay the full premium; those who see it negotiate with the facts.
