Today, I’m sitting tight and won’t open any new positions. $BTC 82412 is right on the 4H 21 moving average, with 83500 overhead and 81401 below. Entering here would be about as reliable as a coin toss.
Yesterday I said I was leaning bearish, but that view would be invalidated if price closed back above 83500. It didn’t, so the direction call hasn’t been proven wrong—but the broader market just moved sideways and never gave the bears a real run. The trading results look rough: of six closed trades, only one was a winner; the other five were all stopped out. The good thing is that every trade stopped at its original stop-loss level, and none turned into a major loss.
I have four positions open, some long and some short, each based on its own structure. The Lobster short is currently up +14.89%, with a stop at 0.03841. I’ll keep holding as long as the 4H trend continues downward. The $PYTH long is down -2.95%, but it’s still some distance from its 0.0909 stop, so I’m leaving it alone unless that level is hit. The two long positions in crude oil and US stock indices are both within 1% of their entry prices. All of these positions are in my signal portfolio, so people copying my trades have the same entries and stop-losses.
83500 has been acting as resistance, holding price back over the past three days, while 81401 is the swing low for this 4H move. If a 4H candle closes above 83500, today’s wait-and-see stance is off. I’ll first tighten the stop on the Lobster short, and only then reconsider long positions in crypto. If price breaks below 81401, I won’t touch any crypto longs, and I’ll keep holding the short. Between those two levels, I’m only managing the four positions I already have.
The worst thing I could do today: open a leveraged position on a gut feeling when there’s still a thousand points of room in either direction.
