The $XRP Ledger has just gained a feature that could be especially important for institutional payments and finance:
🔥 BATCH TRANSACTIONS
It is now possible to group between↴
2 AND 8 TRANSACTIONS
into a single operation.
The feature supports four different execution modes.
The most interesting for financial operations is↴
ALL OR NOTHING
Either all actions are completed...
OR NONE ARE EXECUTED.
This makes it possible to build operations such as:
ASSET + PAYMENT → JOINT SETTLEMENT
reducing the risk of one part of the operation going through while the other fails.
Use cases include↴
swaps between accounts, payments + fees, OTC trades, and delivery-versus-payment.
And there is an important detail.
The first implementation of Batch uncovered a critical vulnerability before reaching mainnet. It was disabled and replaced with BatchV1_1, which fixed the issue; no losses occurred because the vulnerable version had not been activated on mainnet.
An additional security update, fixBatchV1_2, was also prepared to harden the processing of internal transactions.
👉 This does not mean an automatic price increase for $XRP .
But technically, the XRPL has just gained an important tool for more complex operations.
