The stablecoin wars are heating up — and the winner shapes how global commerce settles.

USDT still commands the lion's share of on-chain volume, but USDC is quietly closing the gap in regulated markets. Institutional treasuries prefer audited, regulated stablecoins. As MiCA rolls out across Europe, regulatory-compliant stablecoins get a structural tailwind that pure market-share metrics don't yet reflect.

But stablecoins are only as useful as the rails they run on. $BNB Chain processes millions of stablecoin transfers daily at near-zero fees — making it the default layer for retail payment flows in Southeast Asia and beyond. $XRP's settlement speed and ODL (On-Demand Liquidity) corridors remain underappreciated for cross-border B2B payments, particularly in corridors where correspondent banking is slow and expensive.

$ETH remains the institutional anchor — most large stablecoin treasuries and DeFi collateral vaults live on mainnet or L2s. The blockchains that capture stablecoin velocity will capture real economic activity — and that matters more than TVL alone.
