Today, Venezuela’s $USDT P2P market has two thermometers, and they’re reading very differently. 🧐

On screen: buying $USDT is at Bs. 1,013.78 and selling at Bs. 997.36. That’s a spread of just Bs. 16.42, or 1.65%. With 270 active offers, the market looks liquid and orderly. That’s the internal thermometer.

The other thermometer is the one almost nobody takes a close look at: the BCV rate at Bs. 873.87. There, the premium stretches to 16.01%. In other words, there’s a difference of nearly Bs. 140 per dollar between the official rate and what people pay on the street.

🔍 What does this tell us?

1) P2P is not disorderly. A 1.65% spread points to depth: buyers and sellers are meeting without any major turbulence. When the market really breaks down, that number spikes. That’s not happening today.

2) The pressure isn’t coming from within P2P; it’s coming from outside. The gap with the BCV rate remains the key indicator. As long as that premium stays above 15%, the bolívar will keep losing ground against the digital dollar.

3) Bs. 1,000 is no longer a ceiling; it has become a psychological floor. Round numbers carry a lot of weight in traders’ minds: many wait for it to “drop below a thousand,” but in practice, the market settles above that mark.

The $BTC does its thing on the global stage, but in Venezuela, the day’s barometer is still $USDT.

📌 Practical tips for today:

- Calculate the final price, including fees, before closing the trade.

- Check the payment method and the counterparty’s reputation, not just the rate.

- If you’re moving a large volume, split up the transaction: you’ll reduce risk and gain flexibility.

- Always save your receipt. In P2P, support is your best ally.

The market is calm on the inside and tense on the outside. Understanding that difference separates those who improvise from those who trade with sound judgment.
