Gold Daily | October 5 $XAU Cooling employment, rising safe-haven demand: Can gold find support? Today, two key themes are shaping the news around gold: the impact of U.S. employment data on rate-hike expectations, and safe-haven demand driven by geopolitical tensions. ① Slower job growth may ease pressure for rate hikes U.S. nonfarm payrolls rose by 29,000 in September, according to figures released last Friday, while the unemployment rate was 4.2%. Job gains for July and August were revised down by a combined 60,000, and average hourly earnings increased 3.0% year over year. These figures were released last week, but remain important context for the market’s assessment of the interest-rate outlook today. U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics For gold, cooling employment may ease pressure for further rate hikes. But “one fewer rate hike” and “the start of rate cuts” are two different things and should not be treated as equivalent. ② Rising geopolitical risks: Will safe-haven demand persist? A Reuters report on October 5 said that Yemen’s Saudi-backed government had announced plans to launch a military operation to retake areas controlled by Houthi forces. Going forward, watch the scale of the operation and whether it escalates regional conflict or threatens energy supplies. Reuters report republished Rising tensions may boost safe-haven demand for gold, but whether the initial rally following the news can continue will depend on developments on the ground and how investors respond. ③ Keep an eye on the dollar and U.S. Treasury yields today My view: Gold currently has two potential sources of support—cooling employment and safe-haven demand—but the market still needs to confirm them. If the dollar weakens and real yields fall, conditions for gold to gain support will be more favorable. If the dollar strengthens again, positive news may also be outweighed. For now, keep an eye on three things: whether geopolitical tensions escalate further, whether Fed comments shift rate-hike expectations, and whether the dollar and U.S. Treasuries move in gold’s favor. The news points to what to watch; price action determines whether to act. Don’t chase rallies or sell off based on a single headline. #Gold

Cooling employment, rising safe-haven demand: Can gold find support?
Today, two key themes are shaping the news around gold: the impact of U.S. employment data on rate-hike expectations, and safe-haven demand driven by geopolitical tensions.
① Slower job growth may ease pressure for rate hikes
U.S. nonfarm payrolls rose by 29,000 in September, according to figures released last Friday, while the unemployment rate was 4.2%. Job gains for July and August were revised down by a combined 60,000, and average hourly earnings increased 3.0% year over year. So rich that it’s at this level—yet they’re still lying in bed replying to messages, and even take a Nissan to pick people up? Recently I saw online shares of photos from a New York Times visit to CZ’s residence in Abu Dhabi, and it’s actually a bit different from what I’d pictured the life of a billionaire would be like. CZ is lying there using a computer; in the children’s room there are all kinds of things; and the “first sister” is still in a meeting. According to the account, when the reporter went, CZ even personally drove a Nissan SUV to the hotel to pick the person up. Looking at all these scenes, it doesn’t really feel like a rich-lifestyle blockbuster. Instead, it looks a lot like the everyday life of an ordinary family. Of course, a few photos can’t explain everything. But suddenly I feel that once you’re rich enough, life may not be more comfortable by hundreds of times. The phones and computers we use might be the same models as theirs. They eat well and live comfortably—but many things don’t require a billionaire’s fortune to have. So I’m even more curious: if they’re already this rich, why do they still have the energy to keep working? If it were me, I’d probably already be thinking about traveling everywhere and sleeping until I wake up naturally. What exactly they’re doing all this for—only they know. Maybe they like it. Maybe they won’t admit defeat. Or maybe they genuinely want to build Binance into the kind of place they want. I used to think working relentlessly was for the day you could finally stop working. But now I realize some people could have already stopped, yet they still want to keep going. #CZ #Binance life

【Oct 4】 $XAU On the weekly level, it’s a bearish candlestick with a gap. After filling the prior upside daily gap, there wasn’t much pullback response; downside momentum still remains dominant. Going forward, if the earlier breakout triangle consolidation does not hold, then the low at 3941 will very likely be reached, and it could even break. On the daily level, the right-side decline structure is forming: after a big sell-off, there was a rebound. On Friday, the rebound high was taken out, then price fell again. The near-term downside target is around the 4110 liquidity zone. On the 4-hour level, the right-side decline structure has shifted into a sideways range. The high is around 4220 where it’s being rejected, and the next target is also 4110. Whether price breaks below or reclaims it will determine the entry direction. The 1-hour structure is similar as well. Until 4110 prior high is taken out, stay cautious on short positions and watch the gap at 4178/4166. For longs, the focus remains around 4100–4110. If price moves further down, we’ll need to wait for it to play out and then reassess. #黄金 #XAU

【Oct 1】 $XAU On the monthly line level, a bearish candle formed (closing lower). The closing is within the preceding K-line, and the prior K-line’s upward gap has not been fully filled; it looks relatively weak. The liquidity around the bottom at 3941 is attractive. Overall, the bottom is rising (moving higher), while the highs are lowering; the pattern also suggests a possibility of convergence. At the daily line level, the market is in a downward trend. A long upper-wick bearish candle formed, which doesn’t look very good. The area around 4220—where the high pulled back to and turned around near the support/resistance swap level—met resistance and fell again. The parallel low around 4110 is a likely destination for price. At the 4-hour level, the structure is bearish. Yesterday during the day it rebounded, but in the evening the decline started. Near 4220 it met resistance again and then formed a “shooting hammer”/inverted hammer-type candle, followed by further selling. A downside gap was left around 4175. Going forward, as long as 4110 hasn’t been taken out (not broken through and cleared), if there’s an opportunity to rise again, you can try to short. Once 4110 is taken out, the logic changes. In terms of pattern, it may form a W-bottom after taking out 4110, or it may break down and continue lower instead—basically these two paths. At the 1-hour level (right-side structure), the market broke below the short-term rising trendline. After a retest of the 1-hour upward gap at 4148, there was a small rebound, but it has since broken down again—showing weakness. The next target zones are 4143/4110. #黄金

【September 30】 $XAU On the daily timeframe, it formed a bullish candle, but it can only be counted as a rebound during a decline, not a particularly strong move. The low has left liquidity to be taken. Today’s high broke through the previous high, and then it started moving down. If it can directly wrap back down, then intraday shorting is clearly defined—you’d need to look for signals on a smaller timeframe. On the 4-hour timeframe, during the rebound within the right-side downtrend structure, we’re mainly watching around the 4200 round-number area, as well as 4220/4254. Once it reaches there, if a 5-minute market-structure breakdown appears, it can be used to continue the larger-trend shorts. On the 1-hour timeframe, after it bottomed near 4110, it has been forming a continuous upward structure. But for now, we can only treat it as a rebound. If it drops back into 4171, you can first expect around 4148. If it can’t hold, then sequentially 4134/4110. If the pullback to 4171–4174 holds, then it can continue upward toward around 4200. #黄金 #Gold analysis
