MultiversX has resumed a hard fork—internal testing is done!

Let’s look at it objectively: the official explanation is that the attack root cause was an incorrect sequence of operations, and that the verifier quickly managed to take control. The attacker’s account has been frozen on major exchanges, and law enforcement has also become involved. The recovery plan is to coordinate a hard fork from known-good checkpoints. Relevant code has been published, and the testnet and devnet are still rehearsing the node recovery process.

But the mainnet is still paused right now. The official stance is very strict: before an official security notice is issued, do not submit or replay transactions, and do not use exchanges or cross-chain bridges to deposit or withdraw EGLD and ESDT. Exchanges and cross-chain bridges must wait until after the restart, then reopen in stages.

Yet the market moved first. On Binance spot, the EGLD price is around 4.36; it opened near 4.16, and the day’s high touched 4.47. Today it’s roughly up 5%. With the mainnet still stopped and spot already rallying ahead of time, this looks more like抢修 (rallying on expectations of restoration) rather than evidence that on-chain fundamentals have already recovered.

If you’re holding long positions, don’t chase after the 4.47 daily high—stick close to it and watch. On a pullback, look to see whether it can hold around 4.20. If it loses the area near the 4.15 opening zone, then this “repair trade” is effectively invalid.

Next, we’ll just monitor whether the official team has issued a mainnet restart notice or a security alert. Until the notice arrives, one or two bullish candles don’t necessarily mean the chain is already fixed.
