The 8% spread returned to the conversation in the P2P operator groups. The figure comes from a simple subtraction: Bs 987.17 on the buy side and Bs 914.06 on the sell side of the aggregated USDT/VES price chart, according to P2P Radar with data captured on September 15, 2026 at 08:00. The difference is Bs 73.12, equivalent to 8.00%.

The details matter: that 8% is not the commission a user will pay in a specific transaction. It is the range between the best buy price and the best sell price of a fragmented market by bank, payment method, and exchange. One user who buys and another who sells do not pay the same, and in remittances this asymmetry translates into bolívares left behind.

## What the board says today

- **USDT/VES P2P (Radar):** buy Bs 987.17 / sell Bs 914.06. Spread Bs 73.12 (8.00%).

- **BCV dollar:** Bs 842.21, with no reported variation.

- **Parallel dollar:** Bs 949.83 (buy Bs 948.80 / sell Bs 950.86), with its own spread of just Bs 2.06 (0.22%).

- **P2P premium vs. BCV:** 17.21%.

- **P2P traffic light:** 69/100, yellow state, «moderate caution». Reports 156 active offers.

- **Order book (USDT/VES):** best ask Bs 950.99 and best bid Bs 950.00, with spread of Bs 0.99 (0.10%) and average price of Bs 950.50.

There is a discrepancy worth saying out loud: the opportunities module of the same board talks about a «low premium» of 12.9%, while the traffic light calculates 17.21% vs. the BCV. Both numbers come from the same snapshot, so the correct interpretation is that there is an unresolved internal inconsistency. If you’re going to use the premium as a reference, verify the source before acting.

## The 8% spread: what it is and what it is not

Interpretation: the 8.00% combines two different effects. The first is structural: the gap between the buy and sell sides of a market with few price makers. The second is compositional: within the same aggregate, offers from Binance and other platforms coexist, with very different payment methods, and that stretches the extremes.

The proof is in the order book. While the aggregated marker shows Bs 987.17 against Bs 914.06, the order book reports a real spread of Bs 0.99 between the best ask and the best bid. In other words, the 8% is not the cost of entering and exiting the market at the same moment: it is the distance between the ends of available liquidity. Trading «at market» in the book is much cheaper than the aggregated photo suggests; doing it in the wrong book, or with the wrong bank, is much more expensive.

Depth data: the book accumulates 388,744.96 USDT in buy orders and 182,728.24 USDT in sell orders, a 36.05% imbalance with greater buying pressure. In a market like this, whoever needs to sell quickly often pays the price of the short side of the book.

## Differences by bank: Banesco 4.58% vs. Mobile Payment 6.27%

Radar’s bank comparator shows very different internal spreads depending on the payment method. These are buy and sell averages per bank, not guaranteed prices:

Method Avg buy (Bs) Avg sell (Bs) Spread Listings

Banesco 960.88 918.84 4.58% 26

Mobile Payment 966.27 909.29 6.27% 33

Other method 968.08 907.09 6.72% 32

Banco de Venezuela 953.18 942.17 1.17% 15

Mercantil 954.22 943.90 1.09% 10

Bancamiga 953.87 944.27 1.02% 6

The reading is straightforward: Banesco offers the best balance between buying and selling among the payment methods with the highest volume, with 16.5% of the liquidity and a score of 76. Mobile Payment concentrates more listings (33) and 20.9% of the liquidity, but its average spread is 1.69 percentage points wider. «Other method» is the most expensive in the table at 6.72%.

On the other end, Banco de Venezuela, Mercantil, and Bancamiga show spreads close to 1%. These are much healthier figures, although with fewer posted listings and therefore less ability to absorb large transactions without moving the price. A narrow spread with little depth is not necessarily better: it is more fragile.

## Binance vs. other platforms: two order books, two realities

The order book provided covers Binance and other platforms, and the differences are notable:

- **Binance, buy side:** 10 best orders with better price at Bs 945.80 and median at Bs 948.00.

- **Binance, sell side:** 10 best orders with better price at Bs 951.80 and median at Bs 951.40. Most of the deep liquidity is here: there are levels of more than 39,000 USDT near Bs 954.

- **other platforms, sell side:** staggered and more expensive offers, from Bs 955.70 up to Bs 972.80; most have small amounts (tens or hundreds of USDT).

- **other platforms, buy side:** two large orders stand out below the market: Bs 921.00 for 100,000 USDT and Bs 915.71 for 99,458.87 USDT, associated with Banesco and bank transfer.

Operational conclusion: to buy USDT, Binance offers better prices in the visible book; to sell, the large bids from other platforms appear far from Binance’s best price, suggesting that side is meant for high-ticket trades with a discount, not for retail operations. There is also an alert from the board itself showing a 9.21% difference between Binance (Bs 943.99) and other platforms (Bs 1,030.90). Other platforms do not appear in the order book delivered, so that data must be verified directly on the platform before using it as a reference.

## Impact on remittances: the real cost per each 100 USDT

This is where the spread stops being an abstract number. The board’s official calculation indicates that 100 USDT equal Bs 91,405.73 on the Radar sell side, and that Bs 1,000,000 buys 1,094.02 USDT. But the bank where the remittance is settled changes the result:

- **Settle in Mobile Payment** at the sell average (Bs 909.29): 100 USDT yield Bs 90,929.

- **Settle in Banesco** at the sell average (Bs 918.84): 100 USDT yield Bs 91,884.

- **Settle against the book’s best bid** (Bs 950.00): 100 USDT yield Bs 95,000.

The difference between the first and third option is Bs 4,071 per each 100 USDT received, about 4.3%. Between Banesco and the best bid, the gap is around 3.3%. For a family that receives a monthly remittance, choosing the settlement bank weighs more than any minor adjustment in the sender’s commission.

Relevant finding: there are an additional 422.5 USDT between the best and worst settlement route per million bolívares moved, a figure that does not appear in comparisons of traditional commissions.

## What to check before trading

- **Compare the bank, not just the exchange.** The spread between Banesco and Mobile Payment is 1.69 percentage points in this screenshot.

- **Look at depth, not only price.** The 36.05% imbalance favors the one who sells quickly; if you need to sell, check the large bids and their limits.

- **Verify the limits of each listing.** Several offers with a good price move very narrow minimums and maximums.

- **Confirm the premium vs. BCV.** With official Bs 842.21 and parallel Bs 949.83, the reference changes depending on the source.

- **Review reputation and payment method** before releasing funds. The traffic light in yellow implies moderate caution, not a green light.
