The official rate of Venezuela's Central Bank stood at **827,7371 Bs/USD** for September 10, 2026, according to the publication collected by Finanzas Digital, which reports a variation of **+0.931%**. Two days earlier, on September 8, the official benchmark was **814.69 Bs/USD**, according to Bloomberg Línea.
On the other side of the counter, PitbullChain’s P2P radar captured USDT/VES at **974,7588 Bs** at 12:00 UTC on September 10 (08:00 in Caracas). That leaves a **17,76% premium** over the BCV rate. The useful question is not how much it is, but what that number is made of—and what part of that number is structure versus what part is short-term noise.
## 1. Adjustment speed: the official rate rose 1,60% in two days
The verifiable segment data is as follows:
- **September 8:** 814,69 Bs/USD (Bloomberg Línea).
- **September 10:** 827,7371 Bs/USD, +0,931% compared to the previous day (Finanzas Digital).
- **Accumulated variation 8 → 10:** +13,0471 Bs, equivalent to **+1,601%**.
The compounded daily average for the segment is around **0,80%**. The data for September 9 does not appear in the live sample we use, but if +0,931% corresponds to that day’s jump, the intermediate rate would have been near **820,10 Bs/USD**. This is an _arithmetic inference_, not a published figure: it’s worth flagging it as such.
Here is the first relevant contrast. If the gap is 17,76% and the official rate adjusts at a pace close to 0,8%–0,93% per day, closing that distance solely through BCV would take on the order of **20 wheels** while keeping the same speed (illustrative calculation, not a projection). That means: the market doesn’t expect that close; it trades with the gap in place.
## 2. What the 17,76% premium is made of
Breaking down the premium helps more than repeating it. With the captured data:
- **Parallel dollar:** 959,87 Bs (Binance P2P), with 959,74 to buy and 960,00 to sell. Its spread is only 0,26 Bs (**0,03%**).
- **Parallel vs. BCV:** 959,87 / 827,7371 − 1 = **15,96%**.
- **USDT over parallel:** 974,7588 / 959,87 − 1 = **1,55%**.
- **Total premium:** 974,7588 / 827,7371 − 1 = **17,76%**.
The operational read: about **15,96 points** are _structural gap_, the sustained distance between the official rate and the parallel market. The remaining **1,55 point** is USDT’s own differential vs. the parallel—a component more sensitive to commissions, available liquidity, and specific stablecoin demand. The direct sum gives 17,51 points; the difference is explained by the multiplicative effect of chaining percentages.
The euro market repeats the pattern: 963,2128 Bs per EUR on BCV versus 1.134,30 on the parallel market, a premium of **17,76%** along the same line. This is a sign that the phenomenon is currency-exchange related, not specific to a particular asset.
## 3. A 4,66% spread coexisting with high liquidity
The radar reports a USDT sell reference at **931,3508 Bs** against a buy reference at **974,7588 Bs**: a difference of 43,408 Bs, or **4,66%**. At first glance it seems like a broken market. It isn’t.
At the same time, the capture shows **221 active offers**, **205 ads** in the order book, and a liquidity score of 95 out of 100. High liquidity and a wide spread can coexist without contradiction when the published spread is a _reference range_ and not the cost of the first executed trade.
The proof is in the book itself: the USDT buy tip is at **960,30 Bs** and the sell tip is at **959,80 Bs**, with a spread of 0,50 Bs (**0,05%**) and a mid price of 960,05 Bs. This is the _executable spread_. The 4,66% measures the width of the full menu—what’s there from the highest offer to the lowest—, not what it costs to enter through the front door.
There’s also a divergence worth naming: the P2P reference of 974,76 doesn’t match the order book tip (960,30). They correspond to different capture windows (12:00:05 UTC and 11:59:43 UTC) and different universes of ads. It’s a data point to verify before trading, not a market error.
## 4. Order book: 42,62% buy-side pressure and a ceiling at 960,30
The order book depth shows the imbalance:
- **USDT buy side (ask):** 102,567.59 USDT across 32 offers. The cheapest tip is 960,30 Bs with 2,164.36 USDT; above that there are steps up to 970,31 Bs, with concentration on other platforms and methods such as Pago Móvil.
- **USDT sell side (bid):** 254,952.37 USDT across 35 offers. The tip is at 959,80 Bs with 20,963.78 USDT on Banesco; below that appear 40,000 USDT at 951,00 Bs via Pago Móvil.
- **Imbalance:** **42,62%** pressure in favor of the buy-side.
Translation: there is more money commitment available to absorb USDT than sellers willing to let it go at the tip. That usually supports prices, but it also explains why large executions move away from the top of book and why the range of ads stretches.
## 5. Banks: where the liquidity is and where the real spread is
Bank / method Ads Buy USDT Sell USDT Spread Score Pago Móvil 26 967,70 953,29 1,51% 85 Banesco 21 968,45 957,28 1,17% 87 Banco de Venezuela 19 961,70 — — 77 Other method 19 966,73 951,48 1,60% 72 BANK 10 961,61 — — 59 Provincial 6 — 958,62 — 52 BBVA 4 — 958,68 — 48 Bancamiga 3 — 959,00 — 46 The spreads by bank range from **1,17% to 1,60%**, far below the aggregated 4,66%. This confirms the thesis: the large number is the market’s edge, not the typical cost. Pago Móvil and Banesco concentrate liquidity (23.2% and 18.8% share). Bancamiga, BBVA, and Provincial appear almost only on the sell side.
In a specific Binance snapshot, the tip references were between 959,00 and 960,21 Bs, with medians at 959,50 and 960,00. That is, the market’s real center is close to 960, not 974.
## 6. Yellow light: 71 out of 100
The P2P traffic light shows **71/100, yellow status, "Moderate caution"**. The breakdown explains why it’s neither green nor red:
- **Strong:** data freshness 100, liquidity 95, banking availability 95, volatility 95, exchange health 95.
- **Medium:** premium 75, external signal 60.
- **Weak:** depth 45 and spread 20.
The traffic light does not predict prices. It describes market conditions: there are counterparties to trade with, but the range of posted prices is wide and the order book depth is thin for the imbalance shown. There were two severity alerts recorded: liquidity (positive) and spread (warning).
## 7. Practical wrap-up: three checks before moving bolívares
- **Compare the tip vs. the ad.** The price you see highlighted is not always the one you execute. Check the top of book: 960,30 buy and 959,80 sell in the capture, versus an aggregated reference of 974,76.
- **Verify bank and method.** Pago Móvil and Banesco concentrate the offer. Confirm that your bank is accepted in the counter-offer and review the minimum and maximum limits of each ad.
- **Calculate the net before confirming.** At the sell reference of 931,3508 Bs, 100 USDT equals 93,135.08 Bs, and 1,000,000 Bs equals 1,073.71 USDT. Add commissions and settlement times.
The summary of the 8–10 September stretch: the official rate moved +1,601% in two days, the parallel stayed at 959,87 and USDT held at 974,76. The 17,76% gap is mostly structural (15,96 points) with a stablecoin component of 1.55 points. The 4.66% spread is wide in the showcase, but narrow in the box: 0.05% at the executable tip.
