He said: "I participated like an idiot, and part of my compensation was cryptocurrency, so I lost a lot of money." (The Block) Last October, during SBF's criminal trial, Nishad Singh, former director of engineering at FTX, read out a list of transactions in a spreadsheet in court, which showed that FTX provided far more than $1 billion in promotional funds to celebrities and influencers. These transactions include FTX spending $135 million to rename Miami's well-known entertainment center as FTX Arena (now Kaseya Center). The list also includes $28 million paid to NBA basketball player Steph Curry, $14 million paid to Canadian businessman Kevin O'Leary, and undisclosed amounts paid to NFL quarterback Tom Brady, supermodel Gisele Bundchen and actor Larry David.
