Offchain Labs - is the parent company of Arbitrum and has various product names including Arbitrum AnyTrust, Arbitrum Nova, Arbitrum Nitro and Arbitrum One.

Among them,

  • Arbitrum One is the main product of Offchain Labs and runs on Optimistic Rollup technology. It is specially developed for the DeFi (decentralized finance) and NFT (decentralized token) markets.

  • Arbitrum Nitro is not a separate blockchain but an improved version of Arbitrum One. It was developed to improve performance and reduce costs for users. This version also uses the WASM virtual machine and the Geth language.

  • AnyTrust is a technology developed to optimize costs and transaction speeds, built on the "minimal trust assumption".

  • Arbitrum Nova is another blockchain built on Offchain Labs' AnyTrust technology. It was created to serve social markets, gaming, and other industries that need to process a lot of transactions with cheap fees.

Arbitrum's flagship chain, Arbitrum One, launched in 2021. This was followed shortly by the launch of Arbitrum Nova, a separate AnyTrust chain built for ultra-low-cost transactions. In August 2022, Arbitrum One was upgraded to the Arbitrum Nitro stack, upgrading its scalability by 7-10x.
