According to Odaily, DWF Ventures recently shared insights on X about the substantial growth experienced by the TON ecosystem over the past year. The report highlights several key areas of development and progress within the ecosystem.
Firstly, user growth has been remarkable, with the daily active users (DAU) of TON increasing more than tenfold since the beginning of the year. The average number of transactions per user has also been steadily rising, with some days in recent months surpassing Ethereum in terms of transaction volume.
Secondly, there has been explosive growth in mini-programs, including Notcoin and Catizen. Data from The Open League 5 indicates that these mini-programs have been particularly effective in attracting Web2 users, or off-chain users, to the TON ecosystem.
In the DeFi sector, DeDust.io and STON.fi have emerged as leading decentralized exchanges (DEX) within the TON ecosystem. While STON.fi has the highest number of traders, DeDust.io surpassed it in terms of trading volume in July.
Additionally, the introduction of native USDT on the TON blockchain since April 19 has significantly boosted liquidity between TON and centralized exchanges (CEX). Within three months, the supply of USDT on TON grew to 730 million tokens, quickly catching up with the supply on the Solana blockchain. The total transfer volume over the past month reached approximately $1 billion.
The TON token itself saw a historic high in daily trading volume, exceeding $1 billion in April this year. Although trading volume has recently declined, the number of token holders has been steadily increasing, indicating a growing user base within the ecosystem.
Lastly, the developer ecosystem has seen substantial growth, with 90% of developers exclusively working on TON due to the unique characteristics of the FunC programming language. In 2023, TON introduced a new language called TACT, which is similar to Rust. This innovation likely contributed to the growth, with the number of active developers surpassing 260 in July, marking a new annual high.
