According to Foresight News, Alxe G., the CEO and founder of Matter Labs, has expressed his company's fervent support for libertarianism, the spirit of crypto-punk, and the values stated in the ZK doctrine. He stated that Matter Labs rejects the concept of 'intellectual property' and releases everything they create to the public under a free open-source license.
The existence of trademarks, according to Alxe G., is to protect users, not companies. All trademarks registered by Matter Labs, including those related to ZK, are defensive. This strategy is designed to prevent dishonest actors from misleading customers by confusing their products and services with those provided by Matter Labs.
Earlier, the team had reached out to the legal team of the Ethereum Foundation, proposing to collaborate on creating a legal framework for the use of 'ZK' and similar important technical terms in the public domain.
