A U.S. judge has hinted that he may dismiss a lawsuit filed by Elon Musk’s X Company (formerly Twitter) against the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), the Daily Planet reported. Company X accused CCDH of criticizing the increase in hate speech on its platform, leading to the loss of advertisers and causing huge financial losses to the company. However, U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer expressed skepticism about Company X's allegations, questioning whether the CCDH could have foreseen Musk's acquisition of Twitter and subsequent policy changes. X Company lawyer Jon Hawk believes that if CCDH disagrees with Musk’s policies, it can choose to leave the platform. CCDH attorney John Quinn argued that the lawsuit seeks to stifle criticism and violates California's anti-SLAPP law that protects free speech.
