According to Planet Daily, Starknet said that Volition will be deployed on the Starknet testnet in the fourth quarter of 2023. Volition will be available on the testnet for a long time, and Starknet will actively collect feedback from the community and make adjustments based on the needs of builders.
It is reported that Volition will allow developers to flexibly adjust the data availability on Ethereum (L1) or Starknet (L2). Reducing the data on the L1 chain can fundamentally reduce costs.
Volition is expected to reduce costs for many users and DApp builders. In the future, Starknet will define other data availability models, such as Adamantium.
As previously reported, in July this year, Starknet stated that it would introduce Volition in Starknet 0.13, enabling DApp developers to choose the contract storage security level they need, thereby reducing storage costs; and the 0.14 version planned to be launched in the fourth quarter will introduce a network transaction fee market, realizing the transition from the current network fixed Gas price system to a "first come first served" transaction processing system.
