Layer two platform Linea has partnered with Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) to provide developers with a more secure and seamless environment to build decentralized applications. The partnership aims to address common issues such as cross-chain security and scalability.

Linea, a layer-two (L2) Ethereum network, recently shared news of its integration with Chainlink’s CCIP. The integration gives developers access to a decentralized protocol designed for secure cross-chain communication and asset transfers. According to Linea, they chose CCIP because of its strong emphasis on security, enhanced by Chainlink’s Risk Management Network, which monitors cross-chain activities to prevent malicious behavior.

“We are excited to integrate the industry-standard Chainlink CCIP, reinforcing our commitment to providing leading infrastructure to our ecosystem developers,” commented Declan Fox, product manager at Linea.

The protocol has several capabilities, including secure programmable token transfers across blockchains. It also allows developers to transfer arbitrary data between smart contracts, opening the door to more complex cross-chain operations. Linea emphasizes that these features are intended to enhance the user experience by promoting transaction scalability and cutting costs without compromising Ethereum's security.

The integration links Linea to one of the most expansive ecosystems in blockchain, tapping into Chainlink’s trusted reputation for security and interoperability. Linea hopes the move will not only grow its ecosystem but also drive innovation by supporting the development of cross-chain decentralized applications (dapps). As of October 8, data from defilama.com shows Linea’s total value locked (TVL) is around $448 million.
