Nine new Ethereum futures exchange-traded funds (ETFs) launched on Oct. 2, but the excitement seems to have fizzled as they witnessed less than $2 million in trading volume on their first day. Of these funds, five hold exclusively Ether futures, while the other four track a mix of Bitcoin and ETH futures contracts. The most popular product was Valkyrie's BTF, which tracks both Bitcoin and Ether, with a total of $882,000 in volume. This pales in comparison to ProShares Bitcoin Strategy ETF (BITO), which saw over $1 billion in trading volume on its debut in October 2021. However, the volume for the new ETFs is still considered "quite a lot" compared to traditional finance ETF launches.
