🚨Pablo Rodriguez, co-founder of AirBit Club, a cryptocurrency pyramid scheme, was sentenced to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud in the U.S. District Court in March.
🔍Rodriguez and his co-conspirators were charged with running a global scam, luring investors with false promises of wealth from cryptocurrency, while misappropriating their investment funds for personal use and making excuses when faced with withdrawal requests.
🏛️District Court Judge George B. Daniels ordered Rodriguez to serve an additional three years of probation after completing his 12-year prison sentence.
🔗According to the official release, Rodriguez and Dos Santos founded AirBit Club in 2015 and ran a scam that netted more than $100 million.
💸They lured victims into investing in AirBit Club by promising guaranteed returns in exchange for cash investments in club “members.” AirBit Club was promoted as a cryptocurrency multi-level marketing club, with promises of earnings from mining and trading cryptocurrencies, as well as daily passive profits for members.
⚠️When victims attempted to withdraw funds from the AirBit Club Online Portal and complained to the promoter, they encountered excuses, delays, and hidden fees, often costing more than 50% of the requested withdrawal amount. Some even had their accounts closed, and their original investment allegedly lost due to a false claim related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
