Google has announced updates to its advertising policies targeting cryptocurrency trust. These updates will go into effect on January 29, 2024 and will also cover NFTs.
With the changes, it is aimed to provide more reliable information to users and to protect them against the risks they may encounter in their investments. Advertisers offering cryptocurrency trusts, especially in the USA, are at the center of the update.
Advertisers are now expected to meet certain requirements and receive a certification from Google. In the certification process created with the update, it is hoped that advertisers aim to increase the overall quality and reliability of cryptocurrency advertisements on the platforms by meeting certain standards.
During the certification process, there will be an icon showing that individuals and institutions advertising have met Google's expectations and have received approval to publish cryptocurrency trust ads. While the changes are US-based, Google is reminding advertisers that these restrictions are not limited to the US and that they must comply with local laws in any country or region where their ads are targeted.
Google's cryptocurrency advertising policy also covers NFTs. Under the new policy, ads are allowed in NFT games associated with non-gambling-oriented content. However, as in this new regulation, institutions and organizations must obtain a certificate to advertise on this subject.
