Binance founder will remain in the US until sentencing

- A US district judge has decided that the founder and former CEO of the largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance, Changpeng Zhao (CZ), will remain in the country until sentencing on February 23, 2024.

- CZ admitted guilt for failing to implement an effective anti-money laundering program at Binance and paid a $50 million fine.

- Judge Richard Jones agreed with the US government that CZ's return to the UAE poses a risk of evading justice as he does not have strong ties to the US.
