$SHOPon has fallen from yesterday’s +27.5% to +16.8%, but 24-hour trading volume is still $6 billion—this Shopify earnings report really slapped the fear of AI in the face.
Last night, US-listed SHOP surged about 17% in a single day (its best day in a year). Q2 revenue and operating profit both beat expectations. Barron’s headline even directly wrote: “The earnings report flips the AI-fear narrative.” Meanwhile, in the on-chain tokenized version on 08-05, one big bullish candle moved 123.9→158.7, and it’s now pulling back to around 144.8.
What’s interesting is: just after midnight, I saw AI chips getting hammered (the $SOXSon 3x short led the way), and this morning, ecommerce SaaS earnings stocks violently repaired—same “AI narrative,” but capital is fighting between sectors. $SOUNon is also up +20% today.
Don’t rush to chase: good news got priced in for much of the day. The drop from 155 suggests there isn’t light selling pressure. The tokenized version ≠ direct holding—bigger trading volume doesn’t necessarily mean the order book is deep. Whether the momentum can continue is the question; let’s see if the pullback holds and doesn’t break.
