#clarityactfacesdelaysenateloses8votingdays 🏛️ The CLARITY Act’s September Window Just Got Much Tighter
One of the biggest U.S. crypto policy bills is running into a new problem: the congressional calendar.
House Republican leadership has canceled two September voting weeks, removing eight scheduled voting days and leaving the House with only a short session before lawmakers head back out ahead of the midterm elections.
Meanwhile, the Senate is expected to hold a September 15 cloture vote on the CLARITY Act. But that vote would only be a procedural step toward debate — not final passage.
That matters because the bill still has several hurdles before becoming law, including Senate approval and potentially further House action if the final text changes.
For crypto markets, the significance goes beyond one vote. The CLARITY Act is aimed at creating a clearer U.S. framework for digital-asset oversight, so another delay would mean regulatory uncertainty lasts longer.
The key question now may not be whether lawmakers support crypto market structure reform — but whether there is enough legislative time left to finish it before the elections.
