ASML is doing even better selling upgrades for older machines ASML’s earnings report makes me willing to look for a rebound from tonight through Friday. Gross margin rose along with revenue, and customers are still willing to spend money upgrading equipment they’ve already bought. That gives me more confidence than simply hearing that AI demand is strong. The company reported third-quarter revenue today of about €11.66 billion, up 25% from the second quarter. Revenue from service and equipment upgrades was about €3.29 billion, up 19% from the previous quarter. The company said demand for upgrades was stronger than initially expected, which also helped gross margin rise from 54% to 57.5%. Customers are spending money to get more chips out of their existing machines, and ASML can continue earning revenue from services and upgrades. Fourth-quarter revenue guidance is €14.2 billion to €15.2 billion. Taking the midpoint of €14.7 billion, that’s about 26% more than actual third-quarter revenue. The company still expects revenue to keep growing in the periods ahead, though that will only translate into actual revenue if deliveries keep pace. That’s another reason I’m looking for a rebound this time. The shares closed near $1,750 on Monday, then fell to $1,717.76 yesterday. In premarket trading this afternoon, they bounced back to around $1,746, recovering most of yesterday’s decline, but they haven’t yet reversed the earlier pullback. If this rebound gets sold off after the open, or the shares continue falling below yesterday’s low near $1,682, I’d be more inclined to think they need further correction. Tonight’s CPI report at 8:30 could affect the entire tech sector. If inflation proves more persistent than the market expects, concerns that interest rates won’t come down could also interrupt this rebound. The company also said its originally planned capacity for 2027 and 2028 may not be enough to meet customer demand, and it is exploring further expansion. Strong demand is certainly encouraging, but if deliveries can’t keep up, revenue could be delayed. It’ll be worth listening closely to how the company plans to expand capacity and manage deliveries on tonight’s 9:00 conference call. #ASML #美股 #财报

Customers of $ASMLB are already paying to get more out of their old machines. On October 14, ASML reported its third-quarter results: revenue of €11.662 billion, including €3.289 billion from servicing and upgrading its installed base, up about 19% quarter over quarter and accounting for roughly 28% of total revenue. The company said strong customer demand for productivity upgrades helped push gross margin to 57.5%, above its previous guidance. That’s much more specific than simply saying “AI demand is strong.” Customers want to buy new equipment, and they’re also paying to boost the output of their existing machines. As for new machines, ASML believes that, under current supply plans, it still won’t be able to fully meet demand in 2027 and 2028, and is exploring a larger-scale expansion of capacity. Some customers have even expressed interest in placing orders for 2029 and 2030—but those longer-term intentions still need to become firm orders. I like this business model: after the equipment is sold, customers continue to expand capacity and improve productivity, while services and upgrades keep contributing revenue. This quarter, more than a quarter of revenue already came from those sources. Yesterday’s panic in chip stocks needs to be weighed against this new evidence. Competitive pressure on memory makers can coexist with strong demand for capacity expansion at equipment makers. These results have strengthened my confidence in demand for upstream equipment. Whether the stock is worth chasing still depends on valuation; customers’ willingness to spend on capacity expansion doesn’t guarantee that all AI investments will ultimately pay off. #ASML #半导体 {spot}(ASMLBUSDT)

ASML earnings|Profits explode, but the stock gets crushed? I actually think this dip is a gift 🤔 $ASML just reported: net profit of €4.96 billion and EPS of 12.95, versus market expectations of around 10.7. But after the perpetual futures were announced, the price plunged to 1,640 and is now hovering around 1,680. Let’s check my predictions. In my post this morning, I guessed revenue would be €12 billion. Actual revenue was €11.66 billion, slightly below the expected €11.7 billion. I got that one wrong—fair enough. I guessed a gross margin of 57%; actual was 57.5%, above the top end of guidance ✅ I guessed full-year guidance would be raised. In reality, the range narrowed from €43–45 billion to €44–45 billion, and gross margin guidance rose to around 56%. So I got half of that right. The company didn’t give a specific order figure this quarter (they stopped reporting it separately this year), but the CEO said something significant: capacity in both 2027 and 2028 won’t be enough to meet customer demand, and some customers are already looking to place orders for 2029 or even 2030. Q4 revenue guidance is €14.2–15.2 billion, with the midpoint above the market’s €14.2 billion estimate. So why the drop? Honestly, it’s that tiny revenue miss, plus the entire chip sector getting hit over the past couple of days by concerns about Chinese competition and AI financing. The stock has already pulled back around 11% from 1,890 in early October. Look at the chart: the green line at 1,640 is today’s intraday low. If it holds, this is just a shakeout; the red line at 1,750 is where it broke down a couple of days ago. It’ll only count as a recovery if the price gets back above it. If it falls below 1,640, I’ll admit I’m wrong and look at 1,600 next. $TSM reports tomorrow. ASML says demand is booked out through 2030, so TSMC is unlikely to go soft on capex, and memory stocks like Micron are being swept along by the same sentiment. Capacity is sold out through the year after next, and people are still panic-selling. I’m bullish—I’d rather wait for a pullback to buy this dip 😂 ⚠️Just my personal rambling; this is not investment advice. #ASML #美股财报 #Chips

Yesterday, amid South Korea’s stock-market crash, everyone was shouting that the AI bubble had burst. Today, ASML’s earnings report slapped back: Q3 revenue hit €11.6 billion, up 55% year over year, EPS easily beat expectations, and Q4 guidance of €14.2–15.2 billion was also above market expectations. So what is it: are AI’s “picks and shovels” flying off the shelves, meaning AI isn’t dead, or can even stellar earnings not withstand a valuation crunch? ASML earnings | Due out around 1 p.m. today, and I'm actually worried it'll be "too good" 🤔 $ASML closed around 1,718 last night, down about 8% from the October 2 high of 1,867. Investors have already pulled back ahead of earnings. First, market expectations: revenue of about €11.7 billion (the company’s own guidance is €11–12 billion), gross margin guidance of 55%–57%, and EPS of around €10.70. Orders? They’re no longer being reported. Starting this year, ASML stopped reporting quarterly orders, so all we can do is watch what they say about 2027 on the earnings call. My guess: revenue around €12 billion, near the top end of guidance; gross margin around 57%. The real decider is guidance—for the full year to come in at €43–45 billion, Q4 needs to be around €14.4 billion. My guess is they’ll raise their full-year outlook. Scenario A — Beats expectations: Full-year guidance raised + 2027 described as “fully booked.” The stock will probably test the resistance at 1,870, then we’ll see if it can reach the previous high of 2,000. Scenario B — Misses expectations: A strong quarter but no change to full-year guidance, with vague comments about 2027. The stock is already up 60% this year, so it could easily be a “sell the news” situation. First watch 1,680; if that breaks, 1,590. Honestly, I’m bullish, but I’m not chasing it. A pullback to around 1,680 would feel more comfortable. If ASML says 2027 is fully booked, $TSM in the supply chain should benefit too 😂 ⚠️ Just my personal rambling; this is not investment advice. #ASML #财报 #Semiconductors

ASML Reports Wednesday: Lithography Equipment Chain to Take the Temperature of AI CapexSemiconductor equipment maker ASML is scheduled to report its third-quarter results on Wednesday. The market will focus on orders, gross margin, and what the company says about EUV and High-NA shipments and its full-year outlook. Equipment stocks reflect the willingness to expand capacity over the coming year—a different signal from foundries’ current shipments. With the recent controversy over OpenAI’s messaging still fresh, any comments about slowing demand for advanced process nodes or customer delays could be magnified. Conversely, if guidance is raised and orders are solid, investors may once again turn their attention to the AI infrastructure equipment supply chain. My view: Reduce large directional positions ahead of earnings and switch to trading after the event. Look at equipment makers and foundries separately—when one is strong and the other weak, the sector can see sharp divergence.

ASML Earnings Approaching, Lithography Equipment Supply Chain Awaits GuidanceBeyond wafer foundries, lithography and the equipment supply chain are also firmly in investors’ sights. Orders, gross margins, and shipment guidance to China and for advanced process nodes from companies such as ASML can directly shape market expectations for whether AI capital spending will materialize. Equipment stocks are sensitive to both interest rates and order visibility, and volatility often intensifies around earnings announcements. Over the past year, equipment, memory, and foundry stocks have often risen and fallen together, but divergence is emerging: segments with genuine incremental AI demand are proving more resilient, while those tied to traditional consumer electronics are weaker. In trading, it’s important to distinguish the “AI server supply chain” from the “smartphone/PC supply chain” rather than treating them as one.
