DeFi farming can sound complicated at first.
But once you understand the basic process, it becomes much easier to follow.
On STON.fi, the basic flow is:
Provide liquidity → Receive LP tokens → Stake LP tokens → Earn farming rewards
In this guide, I’ll walk through how farming works on STON.fi, how to find eligible pools, how to start farming, and what to check before entering a farm.
What Is Farming?
When you provide liquidity to a pool, you receive LP tokens representing your liquidity position.
If that pool has an active farm, you can stake those LP tokens in the farm.
The farm’s smart contract then distributes rewards among participants based on their share of the staked LP tokens.
Some farms may have a lockup period, while others can be more flexible.
So, providing liquidity and farming are related, but they are not exactly the same thing.
Step 1: Find a Pool With Active Farming
First, head to the Pools section on STON.fi.
If you already know which pool has an active farm, you can select it directly.
If you don't know which pools support farming, use the Farming filter to display eligible pools.
Choose the pool you want to participate in.
For example, you may see a token pair such as:
STON / USDt
Once you've selected your pool, you're ready to add liquidity.
Step 2: Add Liquidity
Open the pool and click Add Liquidity.
Select the token pair and enter the amount you want to provide.
Before confirming, look for the:
“Get farm rewards”
option.
This is an important part of the process.
By enabling this option, your liquidity position can be placed into active farming as part of the transaction.
Step 3: Enable “Get Farm Rewards”
Turn on Get farm rewards and review the transaction details.
You should carefully check what you're depositing and the conditions associated with the farm before confirming.
Once you're satisfied, approve the transaction through your wallet.
Step 4: Start Farming
After the transaction is confirmed:
Your liquidity is added to the pool.
You receive LP tokens.
Your LP tokens are staked in the farm.
Farming rewards begin accruing.
The process can therefore be summarized as:
Tokens → Liquidity Pool → LP Tokens → Farm → Rewards
This makes it possible to provide liquidity and enter an eligible farm in one operation.
Already Have LP Tokens?
You don't necessarily need to add liquidity again if you already have LP tokens from the pool.
Instead:
Open the pool → Click “Farm” → Review the details → Confirm → Approve in your wallet
After the transaction is confirmed, your existing LP tokens are staked in the farm and you can begin earning the applicable farming rewards.
Don't Ignore Lockups
One of the most important things to understand before farming is whether the farm has a lockup period.
Some farms may be flexible, while others may require your LP tokens to remain locked for a specific period.
Before depositing, make sure you understand:
The farm's reward structure
Whether there is a lockup
How you can unstake
When you can exit
The risks associated with providing liquidity
Never focus only on the advertised rewards.
Understanding the conditions of the farm is just as important.

Final Thoughts
Farming on STON.fi doesn't have to be complicated.
The most important thing is understanding the relationship between liquidity, LP tokens, farming and rewards.
Once you understand that flow, the process becomes much easier to follow.
However, always do your own research before depositing funds. Understand the pool, the farm's conditions, possible lockups and the risks involved with providing liquidity.
In short:
Provide liquidity.
Receive LP tokens.
Stake them in an eligible farm.
Earn farming rewards.
