About Loopring (LRC)
Loopring is a Layer 2 scaling software that runs on the Ethereum network, designed to facilitate the creation of large-scale decentralized exchanges (DEXs). Loopring aims to provide DEXs with the scalability necessary to operate on the same scale as centralized exchanges (CEXs).
The Loopring ecosystem bundles together and processes trade transactions off-chain through a process called zero-knowledge roll-ups, or ZK-Rollups, minimizing the number of transactions that must be committed to the Ethereum blockchain.
Loopring is an open-source project with a unique order-matching design that aims to accelerate DEX trades. Rather than matching traders with a counter-party through an order book, Loopring matches multiple parties within an order ‘ring’ of up to 16 orders.
