Bitcoin is becoming popular not only among individual investors—adoption is also growing among countries, according to crypto analyst Willy Woo.
Countries’ Bitcoin holdings are rising: In 2016, only 2 countries held Bitcoin, but by 2025, that number had risen to 23.
Individuals vs. governments: In 2025, individuals reduced their holdings by about 696,000 BTC, while nation-states added around 135,000 BTC.
Global adoption: According to Willy Woo, about 5% of the world’s population owns Bitcoin, while roughly 12% of countries hold Bitcoin and 8% of countries have policies to acquire or hold it.
US is the largest holder: According to Arkham data, the US government holds around 324,527 BTC, worth about $28 billion. A large portion came from criminal and civil forfeitures.
After the US: China and the UK are also major government holders of Bitcoin.
Future changes: According to River’s projections, individual ownership may decline further, while government and corporate Bitcoin holdings are likely to grow.
In simple terms: The Bitcoin ownership landscape is gradually changing. Alongside individual holders, governments and institutions are also becoming major Bitcoin holders.

Multimillionaire investor Tom Lee believes the #bitcoin bull market has already started! 🚀
Lee's case rests on Bitcoin moving back above its 200-day moving average in August. He says there have been nine crosses above that line since 2012, and eight of the nine were bull market flags.
He also points to Bitcoin ETF flows turning positive so far this year, which he says doesn't happen in a bear market.
Lee chairs Bitmine, a public company with its own interests in the market.

। You do not need a bigger green week. You need to know which token actually gets paid. $UNI is a $5.6B exchange token. $TAO is a $3.4B network token. Uniswap already runs the venue. The fee switch is on. September burns hit about $14.7M. The chart understands that. Bittensor already runs the marketplace. Subnets are live. The chart is still pricing the network, not a clean fee line. One is cash flow the market already knows how to score. One is scarcity the market is still learning how to score. Most of CT will pick the louder tape. The people who read the docs pick the one that still has a job if the timeline goes quiet. UNI pays you by burning supply. TAO pays you only if subnets keep selling work someone actually buys. Delete the ticker and ask what stops. If Uniswap volume dies, the burn dies. If subnet demand dies, the 21 million cap is just a sticker. Which one are you actually holding, and can you name what pays you? NFA | DYOR TAO
