The pardon had barely come through when one sentence from CZ sent ASTER soaring again. Trump then turned around and said, “I don’t know him.”
According to a report by BitRss early this morning, CZ tweeted that he had bought ASTER and planned to hold it long term. ASTER surged by around 25% at one point before giving back most of its gains.
At the time of writing, CoinGecko listed the price at $0.71, up 1.83% in 24 hours, with a range of $0.684 to $0.710. After all the excitement, it was back near where it started.
On the other side of the same controversy, CZ told Fox News that the pardon came as a surprise and involved no negotiations or deals. He said he had met Eric Trump only once, at a Bitcoin conference in Abu Dhabi.
When Trump was asked why he had granted the pardon, his answer was more direct: he barely knew CZ, it had nothing to do with a personal relationship, and the U.S. needed to lead in crypto innovation.
One says, “I bought it and I’m holding long term”; the other says, “I don’t know him.” It’s as if they’re talking about two different things.
To me, the essence of this whole spectacle isn’t who knows whom, but that influence itself moves the market: one sentence from CZ can lift a coin, and one sentence about a pardon can overturn an old case. Sometimes the crypto world trades not on code, but on who can speak the loudest.
This is analysis, not a call to buy or sell. Here’s also the condition that would invalidate this “celebrity says one thing” trade: if ASTER falls below its 24-hour low of $0.684, that would show the buzz around the tweet has faded. Don’t use “holding long term” to talk yourself into staying in.

Which do you think carries more weight: CZ’s “holding long term,” or Trump’s “I don’t know him”—and which one deserves more scrutiny?
