🚨 SOUTH KOREA TARGETS 15–20% OWNERSHIP CAP FOR CRYPTO EXCHANGE SHAREHOLDERS! South Korea is preparing a major regulatory shift that could reshape the country's cryptocurrency exchange industry. The government's proposed Digital Asset Basic Act is expected to introduce a 15%–20% ownership limit on major shareholders of crypto exchanges, aiming to prevent excessive concentration of power and strengthen corporate governance. According to reports published on November 8, regulators are also considering a transition period of up to two years, allowing existing major shareholders time to reduce their stakes without immediate penalties. The proposed legislation could also favor bank-led consortiums for issuing Korean won-backed stablecoins, although participation by fintech companies remains under discussion. Why does this matter for crypto? • Greater regulatory oversight of crypto exchanges • Potential changes to ownership structures at major Korean platforms • Stronger focus on investor protection and governance • Possible new opportunities for institutional participation • Uncertainty for existing exchange shareholders My Take: South Korea is moving toward a more structured digital asset market, but the balance between investor protection and business innovation will be critical. The proposal is not yet final law, and parliamentary discussions could still change important provisions. 🔥 Do you think stricter ownership rules will strengthen South Korea's crypto industry or slow down innovation? #southkoreadraftlawtargets15to20%shareholdercap $BTC
