🚨 Coreum-XRPL Bridge Drained of ~200K XRP in 97-Minute Exploit ⚠️

A cross-chain bridge connecting Coreum to the XRP Ledger was hit on August 9, resulting in the loss of approximately 199,916 XRP.

What happened:
• Attacker exploited a flaw in the bridge’s relay logic during deposit verification

•Forged deposit activity was accepted as legitimate

• This triggered real withdrawals from the bridge’s XRPL wallet

• 94 multisignature-authorized transactions executed over 97 minutes

• Bridge balance dropped from ~200,410 XRP to just 493.5 XRP

Important clarification:
• This was not a breach of the XRP Ledger itself, nor did it involve any private key leaks. The issue was isolated to the third-party bridge’s verification system (requiring 17 of 28 relayer signatures).

• As of the latest reports, the bridge remains suspended and the Coreum Development Foundation has not yet released a full official incident report.
