🚨 $350M BITGET HACK — NORTH KOREA LINK?

Bitget has suffered a major security breach.

Around $351.6M in crypto was stolen from parts of its hot and warm wallet infrastructure. Bitget says customer funds are safe and its User Protection Fund is large enough to cover the reported loss.

But the biggest question is who did it? 👀


Bitget CEO Gracy Chen says preliminary investigation found IP addresses and VPN patterns that match activity associated with a North Korea-linked hacking group.

⚠️ Important: this attribution is NOT fully confirmed yet.

Bitget says the attackers did not obtain private keys. Instead, the preliminary explanation points to a compromise of backend wallet infrastructure that allowed attackers to manipulate transaction data and get transfers authorized.

Withdrawals have been temporarily suspended while the investigation continues.


This is a big reminder for crypto:
