This gives the US significant influence over global markets, especially regarding sanctions. However, the emergence of synthetic dollars on the blockchain may change this picture. These stablecoins, backed by a mixture of real and digital assets, allow transactions to be carried out in dollars while remaining outside the US regulatory structure.
