Adoption speed has indeed fallen short of early community expectations.

However, many overlook another aspect: the infrastructure is still developing, the payment network continues to expand, and the regulatory environment is gradually changing.

Ripple's partners, payment channels, and financial infrastructure offer potential opportunities for XRP's long-term growth.

But we must also distinguish between Ripple's business progress and the actual demand for XRP itself. Increased partners do not necessarily mean a rise in token price.

Slow development does not equate to stagnation, but infrastructure completion does not guarantee success.

What truly matters is whether this development can ultimately translate into broader adoption and sustained, genuine demand for XRP.

🚨 RLUSD recorded 7.82M payments in 30 days. But 99.6% came from a cluster of just 110 wallets.

Bitquery's on-chain investigation found that approximately 7.79M RLUSD payments went to three collector wallets, often in tiny amounts.

The total value carried by that cluster? About $7,722.

That's the detail the headline can hide.

Payment count measures activity. It doesn't automatically measure economic adoption.

Strip out those transactions, and approximately 14,600 RLUSD payments worth at least $1 remain, carrying around $7.33B.

But even that figure needs context: ten wallets moved 82% of the value, including substantial exchange, custody and issuer-related activity.

This doesn't prove RLUSD has no real adoption. It shows why transaction counts alone can be misleading.

The bigger question is whether stablecoins are generating genuine payment utility beyond automated transfers and large institutional movements.

For XRP and the XRP Ledger, the useful metrics are meaningful settlement activity, independent users and sustained demand—not just another record transaction count.

Is stablecoin adoption being measured correctly, or are raw payment numbers making the market look busier than it really is?
