$BTC continues to grind higher heading into today's NFP release.
This week has been slow, with weak price action and very little momentum. That's fairly common during NFP week, so next week could bring much stronger volatility.
For today's session, liquidity is clearly sitting on both sides of the market.
There is significant liquidity above the 65.4K highs extending toward 68.1K, while equal lows and a large liquidity pool remain below around the 60K region.
Although price has been slowly pushing higher all week, these aren't conditions where I'm interested in opening new longs.
I'm still leaning bearish because open interest has stayed mostly flat throughout this move, while spot CVD continues to show sellers holding the upper hand.
I avoid trading obvious liquidity setups, so I'm simply letting my shorts from last week run and waiting for the NFP data.
If we see a dip before the release followed by a post-NFP squeeze higher, I may look to add to my short position after the liquidity grab.
If price breaks higher and holds above key levels after NFP, I'll stay out for the rest of the day.
In this type of market, patience is the best strategy. Let the market reveal which side's liquidity gets taken first instead of trying to predict every move.
