Brin suggests that AIs should be empowered to hold each other accountable, creating a system of checks and balances. This theory, which has historical precedence in human society, could be applied to AI, potentially preventing the accumulation of power and the emergence of AI tyrants. However, the implementation of this idea would require AIs to have a sense of individuality and the ability to be incentivized by rewards or disincentivized by punishments. Brin also proposes registering AIs via blockchain to ensure accountability.
