Why does Bitcoin remain the king of the market?
Despite the growth of thousands of cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin (BTC) continues to be the asset that sets the pace for the entire market.
Why does this happen?
1. It’s the asset with the most trust
Bitcoin was the first cryptocurrency and has been operating for over 17 years without major interruptions to its protocol. This has led many investors to see it as a benchmark for the industry.
2. The supply is limited
There will only ever be 21 million BTC. Unlike traditional money, you can’t arbitrarily create more coins. This scarcity is one of the reasons many view it as a long-term store of value.
3. Institutional adoption continues
More and more companies and institutional investors are showing interest in Bitcoin, increasing its presence in the financial market and attracting new participants.
4. Bitcoin sets the direction of the market
When BTC rises strongly, many altcoins tend to rise as well. When it corrects, it’s common for a large part of the market to experience declines. That’s why following Bitcoin’s behavior is important even if you invest in other cryptocurrencies.
My opinion
Beyond day-to-day fluctuations, Bitcoin remains one of the most watched assets in the ecosystem. For those investing in the long term, studying its cycles and managing risk is often more important than trying to guess every price move.
