Crypto Market Thesis — 25 August 2026

My status: #BULLISH but starting to enter a zone of euphoria.
Bitcoin has just broken through US$80,000, briefly reaching about US$81,238, and according to Reuters is up about 28% throughout August. The main drivers are the weakening of the dollar, concerns about currency debasement, US Treasury buyback policy, and improving sentiment around crypto regulation.

Other market data shows BTC around US$79,631; the funding rate is still relatively low at +0,008%, but Fear & Greed = 82 (Extreme Greed). This is a very important combination: the price is very strong, but leverage doesn’t yet look extremely stretched.

1. Bitcoin — the market’s main engine
I see three signals:
① Price momentum: BULLISH
BTC has rallied about 38% from the June lows, according to CoinDesk.

② Institutional flow: starting to return
Bitcoin ETFs recorded about US$2 billion in inflows over five consecutive days in the prior week. This is much healthier than a rally that’s only driven by retail/FOMO.

Even IBIT recorded about US$1 billion in inflows in a single week, including around US$503 million on Friday.

③ Macro: very important
What I find more interesting than just a BTC chart is that:
Bitcoin is being traded as a hedge against dollar weakness and fiscal/debasement risk.
