The personal information of the Pepe memecoin project development team was "exposed" recently, when a famous person in the Pepe community named @Pauly0x revealed the identity of the project founder. According to @Pauly0x, the creator of memecoin Pepe is Zachary Testa, also known by the Twitter account @degenharambe. Information shows that Zachary Testa was born in 1997, graduated with a major in marketing from Arizona State University in 2018. Notably, Zachary Testa is also said to have violated the law in many places.

Zachary Testa's list of wallet addresses includes:

  • 0x8d2a5bdfc692ad912af77016fc75b49856c369f1

  • 0xea40b0f6BA2aD77fF2FedAe98Ca67EaefCBCBE4A (badussy.eth)

  • 0x9c46a675350ce1f7ca616bf4fb4e0a542295e302

  • 0x40962b448aa899196906646340cb4eb61a8d49b4

In addition to Zachary Testa, the Pepe development team also includes three other members, but their Telegram accounts have been deleted. The community had mixed reactions to the disclosure of this information. Some objections say that @Pauly0x illegally disclosed personal information or did it trivially for no clear reason.

However, it is possible that @Pauly0x was "excited" after being revealed. He accused the Pepe development team of not sharing profits with Matt Furie - the creator of the Pepe the Frog image (the inspiration for the Pepe memecoin). In particular, @Pauly0x said that he brought the Pepe team into association with the Binance exchange, helping Pepe to be listed on the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange.

Another possible reason for @Pauly0x's actions is that more than 16 trillion Pepe coins (about 3.8% of total supply) have been transferred by the project team from multi-signature wallets to exchanges such as Binance, KuCoin and Bybit. Pepe's multi-signature wallet has also reduced the number of required signatures from 5/8 to 2/8.

These actions have left the cryptocurrency community confused. Some people have theorized that the Pepe team may be preparing to carry out a "rug pull" - an act of fraud in the cryptocurrency market.
