SHIBA INU (SHIB): Whale Activity, Derivatives & Technical Analysis
Analysis by: Sultan Alam Wafa (وفا)
The current
$SHIB setup deserves attention—not because
$SHIB is simply a meme coin, but because whale activity, derivatives participation, exchange flows and technical structure are beginning to align for a possible short-term recovery.
🐋 1. Whale & Derivatives Activity
According to the latest available CoinGlass data,
$SHIB is currently showing meaningful derivatives participation.
• SHIB Open Interest: approximately $67M–$71M
• 24H Futures Volume: approximately $46M–$51M
• 24H Spot Volume: approximately $18M–$29M
• SHIB has recently maintained positive 7-day price performance.
CoinGlass explains that rising Open Interest means more futures positions are remaining open. Rising OI together with price movement can indicate fresh derivatives participation, but OI alone is not a buy signal. It must be interpreted together with price, funding and liquidation data.
There is also recent on-chain evidence of large SHIB holders moving substantial amounts away from exchanges. One recent report noted approximately 46.7 billion SHIB leaving exchanges, which can reduce immediately available sell-side supply. However, exchange outflows are not absolute proof of buying; the destination and purpose of the transfers matter.
📊 2. RSI — The Important Signal
The latest technical reading shows RSI(14) around 35.9, placing SHIB close to the oversold region.
This is important because:
RSI below 30 = traditionally oversold
RSI 30–40 = weak/oversold pressure zone
RSI 40–50 = recovery attempt
RSI above 50 = improving bullish momentum
RSI above 70 = overbought zone
Therefore, SHIB's current RSI does not confirm a bullish trend yet. Instead, it tells us that selling pressure has become stretched and that a recovery can develop if buyers return.
The latest technical table currently rates RSI as Sell, while StochRSI is showing a Buy signal—an example of why one indicator should never be used alone.
📈 3. EMA 9 / EMA 21 Strategy
For a short-term Spot trade, I would use:
EMA 9 > EMA 21 = bullish short-term trend
EMA 9 < EMA 21 = bearish short-term trend
The most important confirmation is not simply a crossover. I want to see:
EMA 9 crossing above EMA 21
A bullish candle closing above both EMAs
Increasing volume
RSI moving from the 30–40 zone toward 50
BTC maintaining its important support
If these conditions appear together, the probability of a short-term SHIB recovery becomes stronger.
📉 4. MACD Confirmation
MACD should be treated as a confirmation indicator, not an entry signal by itself.
For a bullish SHIB setup, I would prefer:
MACD Line > Signal Line
and preferably:
Histogram turning from red → green and expanding
If MACD remains below the signal line while RSI is weak, I would avoid chasing the price.
The latest technical reading shows MACD around neutral, so the bullish reversal still needs confirmation.
🎯 5. Short-Term Trade Plan
For a 4-hour to approximately 1-week Spot setup, my working zones are:
Entry Zone: $0.0000046 – $0.0000049
Confirmation: A strong 1H/4H recovery above approximately $0.0000050–$0.0000055 with improving volume and momentum.
Take-Profit Zones
TP1: $0.0000055 – $0.0000058
TP2: $0.0000062 – $0.0000067
TP3: $0.0000070 – $0.0000075
These are scenario-based levels, not guaranteed targets. SHIB is a high-volatility asset and can move rapidly in both directions.
⚠️ Risk / Invalidation
If SHIB loses the important support area with a strong 4H close and RSI continues falling, the bullish recovery thesis becomes weaker.
I would therefore avoid averaging aggressively into a confirmed breakdown.
🔍 My Final View
SHIB currently has an interesting combination:
Whale/large-holder activity + meaningful derivatives participation + elevated Open Interest + recent exchange outflows + a deeply weakened RSI = potential recovery setup.
But there is one major condition:
The technical reversal still needs confirmation.
I would therefore not call SHIB “guaranteed bullish.”
My preferred confirmation is:
BTC Support + EMA 9/21 Bullish Cross + RSI > 50 + MACD Bullish Turn + Increasing Volume
If these signals align, SHIB could offer a meaningful short-term recovery opportunity.
If they do not align, patience is better than forcing an entry.
