📰 Zora has changed leadership. Co-founder and CEO Jacob announced his resignation, beginning the next stage of his career. He will be succeeded as CEO by another co-founder, D. Goens, who will continue leading the Zora team.
🔥 This change isn’t just a title adjustment. D. Goens said that since this past summer, Zora has expanded from originally supporting only Base at the start of the year to include Robinhood and Solana issuance, as well as BNB Chain cross-chain trading, and it has also launched a “custom pairing” feature.
Currently, the platform has created over 4,000 trading pairs, covering new tokens tied to tokenized stocks, Meme coins, and mainstream assets. Users can trade related assets on supported networks, and complete trades directly in DMs via the Zora Agent. Commenting and interaction features are also already live.
💡 On the other hand, the team size was cut to fewer than 10 people earlier, and it relies more on AI agents to handle Slack communication, code writing, and incident response. Honestly, whether this “small team + AI” approach can be sustained long-term is a real test of management ability.
🤔 D. Goens next plans to push a buyback-and-reward mechanism for ZORA holders, restart community incentive distributions, while also improving the mobile experience, strengthening communication, and rebuilding community trust. Do you think Zora’s leadership change this time can restore confidence in the community?
