The 24-hour gainers and losers leaderboard has swapped out its extreme faces today.
The biggest laggard, NES, is currently at 0.1445, down 29% intraday: it was smashed from a 0.2045 high down to 0.1162, with the maximum drawdown exceeding 40%, before rebounding 24% and stabilizing. OKX, KuCoin, Gate, and two other exchanges show the same price drop, with declines all landing in the 29%-30% range. Funds are retreating: total open interest across the market for 24 hours shrank by 8.9%. KuCoin’s OI was cut in half directly (-50.7%). In the past 24 hours, there were $359,000 liquidations—longs accounted for 66%. Funding rates turned negative on a position-weighted basis, while shorts still hold the upper hand.
On the other end, JIMOTHY rallied from 0.0084 to 0.020, with a maximum gain of 139%, and has since pulled back to 0.0147, though it’s still up 59% on the day. MEXC’s open interest increased 66% over 24 hours; there were zero liquidations throughout. The three exchanges’ funding rates stayed pressed against the zero line. This is the typical pattern of spot pushing unilaterally while the derivatives market didn’t dare to chase.
Extreme moves are concentrated in small-cap new coins—watch your position sizing.
