Solana’s biggest challenge, in my opinion, isn’t its total or maximum supply.
The bigger concern is how strongly the network has become associated with meme coins and speculative trading.
Solana makes it extremely easy and inexpensive to launch new tokens. That’s a great feature for innovation, but it also creates an environment where bad actors can launch low-quality or scam tokens, generate hype, push the market cap into the millions, and ultimately extract real SOL liquidity from traders.
This doesn’t mean Solana is a bad blockchain. In fact, its speed, low fees, and technology are among its biggest strengths.
But if Solana wants sustainable long-term growth, it needs to build an identity beyond meme coins.
Meme coins can bring users and attention. Real utility, strong projects, and trust are what can keep them.
That’s where I believe Solana’s next big opportunity lies.
