The First FOMC Candle Might Tell Us Very Little 👀
One thing I’ve learned from major Fed days: the first market reaction isn’t always the real reaction.
Everyone is watching whether the Fed changes rates this September, but I’m watching what happens after the announcement.
If policy turns more restrictive, BTC and tech stocks could initially face pressure as markets adjust to tighter financial conditions. Gold could also react sharply as traders reassess yields and the dollar.
But my bigger question is this:
Does the first move actually hold?
Sometimes BTC drops immediately and buyers absorb the selling. Sometimes markets rally on the headline, only to reverse when traders digest the Fed’s statement and forward guidance.
So instead of chasing the first candle, I’ll be watching:

🔸 U.S. Treasury yields
🔸 Dollar strength
🔸 Tech-stock momentum
🔸 Gold’s response
🔸 Most importantly, the Fed’s guidance about what comes next
For me, confirmation matters more than being first.
The rate decision creates the headline. The market’s reaction afterward tells us how investors actually interpreted it.
