The
$XRP Ledger’s Batch feature has reached 29 validator “Yes” votes and is scheduled for activation on September 29. If activated, it will allow up to eight transactions to be bundled and processed together, opening up things like atomic swaps, bundled DEX trades and NFT exchanges.
That actually got me thinking about something happening on STON.fi.
There’s STON, and then there’s GEMSTON.
For a while, I honestly wondered why STON.fi needed another token when STON already existed.
But I’m starting to see the difference more clearly.
STON is the core protocol token. It’s used for things like staking, governance-related participation and ecosystem rewards.
GEMSTON has a different role. It’s an engagement token, and today we’re already seeing it being used around Stoncat feeding GEMSTON into Stoncats, unlocking Purrks and developing their utility.
So instead of having two tokens trying to do the same thing, you start to see a separation:
STON → protocol participation
GEMSTON → ecosystem engagement and Stoncat utility
That distinction is interesting to me because a token becomes more meaningful when there’s an actual reason to use it inside the ecosystem.
GEMSTON is still something I’m watching closely, but seeing it move from “a reward token” into something connected to Stoncat gives me a much clearer picture of where STON.fi can take this.
Still early, but the utility is starting to make more sense.
