I let a P2P order sit longer than usual once, waiting on a buyer who'd gone quiet after confirming payment. My instinct was to cancel and move on, figuring the trade had just stalled. Instead I checked their order history first — high completion rate, years of trades, nothing that suggested a pattern of stalling.
That made me wait a bit longer instead of assuming the worst, but I still didn't release on their word alone. When they came back, I opened my own bank app and confirmed the transfer had actually landed, not just their message saying it had. It had, just later than expected, no red flags, just a slow bank on a weekend.
What I noticed afterward was how close I'd come to escalating something that turned out fine, simply because I'd skipped checking their history first and let impatience do the reasoning instead. I kept the Order ID and chat thread anyway, the way I always do.
