Bse was the largest tier 2 ethereum rollover in TVL with total deposits of $2.49 billion.
It was one of the top five largest blockchains in TVL, behind #Ethereum , Tron, #Solana , and the BNB #blockchain .
Base, Coinbase's Ethereum Tier 2 network, was the largest blockchain in terms of total funds on the blockchain.
According to DeFiLlama, TVL Base is worth $2.49 billion spread across 366 protocols, slightly higher than TVL Arbitrum's $2.39 billion. Most of TVL Base is accounted for by the decentralized exchange Aerodrome, which accounts for more than $1.3 billion in deposits.
Base is currently one of the top five largest blockchains in terms of TVL, behind Tier 1 chains such as Ethereum, Tron, Solana and the BNB blockchain.
Base acts as an optimistic roll-up using the OP stack. This tier-2 solution processes transactions outside of the main Ethereum blockchain and captures data on a regular basis.
Base also leads the way in user activity, with about 1.5 million active addresses per day, the highest among all tier-1 rollups, according to The Block's data dashboard. According to project manager Jesse Pollack, the network throughput was 70 transactions per second.
This month, Base increased its blockchain target from 10 MG/s to 13 MG/s to accommodate increased user activity. The adjustment is in line with the strategic plan to gradually increase network capacity and the number of transactions each blockchain can handle. The gradual increase will occur on a weekly basis, with an ultimate goal of 1 GG/s.
As for decentralization, Base is still in its early stages. It is described as optimistic stage 0, the "practice on wheels" stage.
