🍀What is a spam attack?

☀️A spam attack is when attackers create a large number of insignificant or useless transactions on a blockchain in order to clog the network, slow it down, or increase fees.
The intentions vary:
☀️Sometimes, it’s to create problems for the network, influence the cost of transaction fees, or even try to mislead users or miners.
🍀How are blockchains protected?
☀️Organizing a spam attack on a large and well-known blockchain is very expensive =)
☀️For example, it can cost you tens of millions of dollars to “load” the Bitcoin network (and it will be a temporary load, as you understand). Ethereum is likely to be cheaper, and you’d only have to spend a few million.
☀️Smaller blockchains are more vulnerable to spam attacks, but there are solutions there, too: for example, introduce dynamic fees that grow under high load (as on Ethereum) and create limits on the number of transactions in a block.
