这就是BIP-110。它的正式名称是Reduced Data Temporary Softfork，核心诉求是临时收紧比特币交易可携带的数据，限制部分铭文、图片和任意数据写入。支持者把它称为“清理垃圾、降低节点负担”；反对者则认为，只要交易符合共识规则并支付手续费，矿工就不该按内容审查区块空间。
先说已经发生的事实。BIP-110进入强制信号阶段时，矿工支持率只有约2.53%，也就是一个2016区块周期中仅51个区块发出支持信号，远低于提案设定的55%门槛。运行该规则的节点在区块高度961,632处分离出去，少数分支随后只产生了两个区块，主链则继续稳定出块。由于分支继承了主网难度，却没有匹配的hashrate，出块几乎停滞。
这不是常见意义上的“代码报错”。BIP-110规范、测试向量和参考实现都已完成，Bitcoin Optech此前也持续跟踪讨论。它失败在更底层的地方：没有足够矿工愿意把算力押到这套规则上，也没有形成能让经济节点、钱包和服务商共同迁移的社会共识。
老玩家都知道，比特币治理从来没有链上投票按钮。开发者可以写BIP，节点可以运行软件，矿池可以signal，交易所和商户可以决定认可哪条链，但任何一方都不能单独宣布“升级成功”。最终起作用的是累计工作量、经济接受度和用户协调形成的Scheling point。代码决定一条链是否valid，算力和市场决定它能否live。
BIP-110还暴露出“反垃圾”叙事里最难解的一层：谁来定义垃圾？今天可以过滤图片和文本，明天是否可能过滤CoinJoin、跨链证明或某类脚本？支持者担心节点成本和UTXO外部性，反对者担心transaction neutrality被打开一道口子。两边争的表面是blockspace，底层其实是Bitcoin究竟更像一套中立结算协议，还是应主动维护某种“纯货币用途”。
但也别把两块后停摆理解为争议彻底结束。失败只说明这次激活机制没有获得足够支持，并不代表数据写入、铭文和节点资源问题消失。市场上已有讨论把少数分支改为新的PoW参数，若后续真的换算法并重新启动，那就不再是推动比特币软分叉，而更接近创建一个拥有独立资产和独立安全预算的新网络。目前这仍是可能性，不是既成事实。
从项目方角度，这次事件提供了一个非常现实的教训：做协议升级，技术完成度只是入场券。miner incentives、节点分布、钱包兼容、交易所识别、replay protection、链ID和应急沟通，缺一项都可能让“可运行代码”变成“无人跟随的分支”。主网级变更拼的不是发布速度，而是coordination budget。
我的判断是，BIP-110的失败反而强化了比特币的协议惯性：争议越涉及交易中立性，升级门槛越接近“事实上的近乎一致”。这种ossification会牺牲变化速度，却也是市场愿意把比特币当作长期结算层的重要原因之一。

تازہ صورتحال کے مطابق BIP-110 chain block 961,633 پر رکی ہوئی تھی، جبکہ Bitcoin کی main chain block 961,744 تک پہنچ چکی تھی۔ اس طرح دونوں chains کے درمیان تقریباً 111 blocks کا فرق پیدا ہوگیا۔
BIP-110 کو miners کی کتنی support مل رہی ہے؟
یہاں سب سے اہم بات mining support ہے۔
BIP-110 کے mandatory signaling شروع ہونے کے بعد main Bitcoin chain پر بننے والے پہلے 113 blocks میں سے کسی ایک نے بھی BIP-110 کو signal نہیں کیا۔
اس سے اندازہ ہوتا ہے کہ اس وقت Bitcoin کی زیادہ تر mining power main chain کے ساتھ کھڑی ہے۔
OCEAN کے مطابق BIP-110 endpoint پر تقریباً 257 PH/s hash power موجود تھی، لیکن اس کے باوجود تقریباً 17 گھنٹے تک کوئی نیا BIP-110 block نہیں بن سکا۔
یہ صورتحال اس fork کے لیے ایک بڑا مسئلہ ہے۔
Fork آگے کیوں نہیں بڑھ رہا؟
اصل مسئلہ Bitcoin کی mining difficulty ہے۔
BIP-110 chain نے وہی mining difficulty inherit کی جو Bitcoin کی main chain استعمال کر رہی ہے۔ جب کسی chain کے پاس mining power بہت کم رہ جائے تو اتنی ہی difficulty پر نئے blocks تلاش کرنا انتہائی مشکل ہو جاتا ہے۔
Bitcoin عام طور پر ہر 2,016 blocks کے بعد difficulty adjust کرتا ہے۔ لیکن BIP-110 chain نے موجودہ period میں صرف دو blocks بنائے ہیں۔
اسی لیے اگر اس chain کو مزید miners کی support نہیں ملتی تو اگلا difficulty adjustment حاصل کرنا بہت مشکل اور وقت طلب ہوسکتا ہے۔
کیا Bitcoin holders کو پریشان ہونا چاہیے؟
اس وقت Bitcoin کی main chain واضح طور پر زیادہ mining support حاصل کر رہی ہے، اس لیے BIP-110 کا رک جانا Bitcoin کی main chain کے ختم ہونے کا مطلب نہیں ہے۔
البتہ fork کے دوران ایک اہم چیز replay risk ہے۔
اگر کسی user کے پاس fork سے پہلے کے coins موجود ہیں اور وہ minority chain پر transaction کرنے کا فیصلہ کرتا ہے تو مناسب احتیاط کے بغیر وہ transaction دوسری chain پر بھی replay ہوسکتی ہے۔
اسی لیے ایسے حالات میں users کو اپنی Bitcoin transactions کے بارے میں خاص احتیاط کرنی چاہیے۔
آگے کیا ہوگا؟
BIP-110 کے mandatory signaling کا مرحلہ ابھی block heights کی ایک مخصوص range تک جاری رہنا ہے۔ لیکن موجودہ صورتحال میں اصل سوال یہ ہے کہ کیا مزید miners اس fork کی طرف hash power منتقل کریں گے یا نہیں۔
اگر mining support موجودہ سطح کے قریب ہی رہی تو BIP-110 chain کے لیے Bitcoin کی main chain کے برابر رفتار سے آگے بڑھنا انتہائی مشکل ہوگا۔
فی الحال صورتحال کافی واضح ہے: BIP-110 fork موجود ہے، لیکن Bitcoin کی main chain کے مقابلے میں اسے بہت کم mining support مل رہی ہے۔
