August proved to be a highly successful month for the Algorand ecosystem. Key metrics trended upward across the board, featuring clear increases in the number of new assets created, TVL (USD), total wallets, and monthly active wallets. Alongside this widespread growth, our team officially introduced native post-quantum accounts. This major launch ultimately generated more than 1.2M transactions through September and caused the cumulative volume of our x402 activity to surpass $277k.

It is with great excitement that we introduce William Herkelrath as the newly appointed CEO of Algorand.

Over the course of twenty years, William has cultivated a wealth of expertise spanning institutional finance, enterprise software, blockchain infrastructure, and AI.

Before taking on this new position, his career featured prominent leadership roles at both Curv and Chainlink. Following those endeavors, he most recently became a co-founder of K3 Labs, which operates as an AI-first automation platform dedicated to creating and executing workflows managed by AI agents.

The eventual arrival of Q-Day is something that has been on the horizon for quite a while. To ensure we are fully equipped for this shift, Algorand has been proactively laying the groundwork since 2022. Now, having successfully executed 1.4 million native post-quantum transactions, our team feels exceptionally well prepared to step into the post-quantum future.
