I have been looking at Dusk Network mainly through the lens of infrastructure, and what stands out to me is the decision to make confidentiality part of the blockchain’s execution model rather than treating privacy as an interface feature.
Dusk is a layer-1 designed for financial applications, with the Confidential Security Contract (XSC) standard supporting confidential smart contracts. That architecture matters because financial applications rarely deal only in information that everyone should see. The practical challenge is allowing a network to verify and execute activity while limiting unnecessary exposure of sensitive information.
What I find more interesting is the friction this creates for developers. Confidential execution can make application design more careful. Developers have to understand which information is protected, how contracts behave under those conditions, and how users interact with applications when visibility is deliberately limited. Privacy therefore introduces responsibility alongside capability.
